Inspired by my eldest child's move to San Antonio, the idea of starting this blog came about while planning and styling his home. You see, my children hates it when they ask me to buy something and I respond, “Oh don’t worry, I can make that for you.” It is something I learned from my mother, the Awesome Lily of my life.  So now that they are at the age of moving out of our home, I can definitely say more often, “I can do that for you!”

The blogging idea isn't a whim. I have an on and off romance with writing. I started a journal once and several times I had started newsletters and webpages for my high school class as we approach each milestone reunion. My first attempt at blogging was via Facebook pages.  I used it simply to keep a record of the little projects I do and how I have made them.

But now that all the kids are grown and as I weigh the options of early retirement, I thought I’d keep my hand and mind busy. While  I journey towards my 55th year, I would like be able share the many things I had wanted to make or do, be it things or memories!
