AN EASTER CENTERPIECE
Of all the seasons of celebration, Easter is my favorite. This is my happy time, my reset button. Why shouldn't it be? Religiously speaking, our Lord is Risen today. Compared to the Christmas rush, Easter sales are much more subdued but everything at the stores are just as festive. As for the weather, it's neither hot nor cold and the outdoors look great with the flowers and trees all in bloom.
So, here is a project that came about because I couldn’t sit still one night last week. I was not quite satisfied with just an Easter tree and door wreaths, I wanted more... So as always, the joy of creation filled me with gladness. With only a $20 in hand, I went to Walmart to buy silk flowers. I grabbed $14 worth of white flowers and found two vessels at home. While normally I don’t pay full price for anything, the white flowers at $0.97 - $3 will do. With these I created two centerpieces.
The first vessel I found was a boat shape (kinda vase, kinda tray) that was on clearance at TJ Maxx for $10 two Christmases ago.
When I got home, I realized that I did not have any supplies for silk flower arranging but when you want something done, you’re going to find a way. So with packing tape I created a grid...
I loosely arranged the flowers like this....
And I am very happy with the finished product....
With the leftover rose bunch, I found a used white pot. Bending the handle of the rose bunch, into the pot it went.
This arrangement now sits on our kitchen counter.
